My response to the article we read would be that the article was very well thought out. it made a lot of arguments that you had to think about. one of my favorite arguments in this would be that selfie and post online are just like mini auto biography. Which I would agree too, but we never think about it we just post and update people. I like how the author related it to a painting it helped to connect to something that everyone can relate to whether it be online or canvas etc.

Summary: In this article the Author talks about similar ways we all use technology to shape ourselves. In the first chapter she talks about how we us 3 different ways to represent ourselves. the first being like diaries and journals. The Author also touches on discipling self representation such as selfies and other photos. She touches on the fact that some people may think that selfies are a form of narcism. She touches on how blogging can be viewed the same way. She goes on to tell us about her blogging experience in early college Phd some of her college classmates called her an exhibitionist. She accepted the term and challenge it by asking why is it bad to be called that ? The article goes on to talk about millennials in Sweden and how they too are ridiculed about their blogs just like how young millennials are today about their selfies. The article talks about how the new read something online its like reading an article of that person and what they are going threw. It talks about how some people could be called micro celebrities and stuff like that.

Connections: In some since you can connect it to the article we read my senior year. I think this is a good connection because of one part in it where it talks about social media and how many people can get most of their information from social media and how some of that information is false, but we wouldn’t know otherwise. In the begging of the article it talks about how some famous painters use their paintings to express their selves. This makes me think of Pablo Picasso’s blue period where he went threw a state of depression and just feeling down and in that time and period you can tell what he went threw and how he felt. The same can be said threw his Rose period as well. I reference these because in the article the Author talks about how we often relate our post and pictures with feelings or self expression.

In responce to “And by islands I mean Paragraphs. I think that the more you think about it the more it makes since. Its a style of writing that makes you think about what you’re reading and not just read it to get it done. It was difficult to understand because you can’t read it like a normal article you know you can’t read it left from right. You just have to like navigate your way threw it. At first it made me really irritated, because the article made me feel like an idiot. I couldn’t figure out why I wasn’t seeing any dialogue or why the dialogue of the article would switch every time I’d try to read it. I learned later on in class that that was how the article was and felt relived that I wasn’t as slow as I thought. all in all i change my previous statement about it being a stupid article. When you break it down the article is quite Genius

it was a little difficult reading the second one because i couldn’t get to show the paragraphs. The first one made some really good arguments on the point was trying to prove. all in all i think that i would’ve liked reading the first one more then the second because it was easier to read. Its points were clear to go by, and you didn’t need to guess on what you were supposed to read. The first one was clear because it talked about how you can learn how to read like a writer and that point was clear through the whole thing. I guess what i’m trying to say is I didn’t like the second one at all. I don’t like being confused about stuff. The first one was more direct.

Summary: In the article Reading like a writer the author talks about how as readers we try to touch on the choice the article we are reading makes. The author touches on the fact that sometime we have to read the writing and to learn the writing. The author state that when you read to write you are reading to learn the writing style of article and the technique of the article. It talks about how when you read to write you often read the article to get the main point of the articles. Mentioned that sometime when you write its not he best idea to put a quote at the beginning because it may not be easily explained or a good fit. That sometimes you should have more than one figured out. The author goes on to say how sometimes we read for information things like recipes and biographies and things like that. The article suggest to try reading the article like an architect. you should always know ahead of time the writing you have to do.

Commentary : In the article by Island I mean paragraphs I found it very hard to read because I couldn’t follow it. I’m not sure what the articles point was so its kind of hard for me to comment on it. I’m not even sure on if I read it the right way or if I even followed it correctly. it was kind of difficult to read because i wasn’t quite picking up on the directions. i’m guessing that the author wanted us to some who connect to it in some sort of way, but its hard to tell when all you have is a paragraph of instructions to read. I tried again this morning but nothing showed up.

My thoughts on this article would be that I’m not sure what to think. Like the article made some pretty good arguments about why he thought that people should blog more and how putting in the work will make you better , but the whole concept kinda confuses me. It doesn’t make since to say that you have to put in the hours because if you put in the hours but you’re not doing it right then the hours are pointless like saying practice makes perfect is a bit ridiculous perfect practice makes perfect, but in my experience with sports and things like that or even with just school work if you put in the time and effort then you will get good results. I also think that it can relate to the other article we read before this about google. If we spent time actually allowing ourself to think about the topic and do into learn it and not just doing it to get it done then they would be more in tune with brain power and not having to result to the internet. which is why I’m so confused about it and just don’t know what to think about it because like i could think like a million things about it that i just don’t know how to pick one

In this article it talks a lot about how if you get what you put in an example would be that if you put in 10,000 hours of for you’re somewhat of an expert on the topic. The article also mention that most college students don’t want to become an expert, but there is nothing wrong with that. The article the goes on tot note what a blog is and that there is many definitions of what a blog can be like a Gizmodo its a technology blog. The author list a bunch of other blogs, then goes on to say that they’re various blogs around the world. The author talks about some techniques on what to write and closes the blog with giving yourself a month

COMMENTARY :  I think for me the easiest thing to latch on to is the what kind of blog you want your blog to be, because I have no clue on what I’m doing here like I know i’m supposed to use this for class… what happens after that though? Do I still use it or delete it or i don’t know. I’d have to disagree on the statement that college students don’t want to be experts; why waste are time coming school to if we didn’t want to be experts? I just didn’t really understand that statement. I think that listing out all thought blogs is kind of a waste of time. I didn’t need to read all of those, but the clarification was nice.

I Choose to do copy writer, because it seemed easier to understand for me, but it was quite difficult. I couldn’t figure out how to publish it but I figured it out. I also choose copy right because I didn’t want to mess anything up with the whole licenses thing. it was easy to grasp after a while and I got her all set up

making this blog was pretty tough for me because I’m not that familiar with computers. The directions went pretty good it was the following them that was hard. I don’t think that it was to frustrating because I don’t really allow my self to get frustrated over things that I’m learning about. I know it’s a learning process. nothing at all went well for me because I was somewhat oblivious to it all. The blog mad me really think about how hard it must be for bloggers to actually blog. doing the copy right was pretty hard because I couldn’t figure out how to get it to save but I eventually figure it out.
